Heritage Name and Legacy
The property was originally known as “Pealagama Waththe Niwasa”, meaning “the house near the paddy land.”
It stood on approximately half an acre of fertile land and remained under the guardianship of generations of Gajanayaka Nilame, custodians of royal tuskers during the reign of the last Sinhalese King, Sri Weerapakrama Narendra Singhe, who ruled the Kandyan Kingdom from 1707 to 1739.
Located near Kundasale, the area carries deep cultural and historical significance, further enriching the identity of the property today.
